So if you look at the title up there, you'll get a pretty good idea of the last few weeks.

Obviously, I have a lot to say today. =P

1)Halloween
Besides Christmas, Halloween is my favorite holiday in the entire world. I just love it. Costumes, candy, parties, haunted houses, and scaring yourself silly. What could be better?

For the second year in the row, I had a Halloween party Needless to say, it was fantastic. My friends are especially talented at coming up with the best costumes...EVER. We had Ke$ha, Elmo, Cookie Monster, Minnie Mouse, Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, Superman, a hula dancer, a vampire, a gypsy, a nerd, a pig, the grim reaper...not to mention Ron Weasley and Quirrel & Voldemort. And Columbia from the Rocky Horror Picture Show. And so many more.

Basically, anything epic.

I was a princess, as you can see. :)

On Halloween, my sixth grade brother stayed home.

I went trick or treating. ;D

Honestly, I find it even more fun now than I did when I was little. There's nothing better than running around the street at night dressed up like a lunatic and taking candy from strangers.

After that, we stopped by my friend's house and rented some epic movies. If you're looking for a blatantly terrible movie that still manages to be incredibly entertaining, NIGHT OF THE CREEPS is for you! It's amazing. We couldn't stop laughing.

All in all, I had a great Halloween. I'm sad it's over.

2) Slumber parties
Part of the reason I have neglected is the blog is because of the SLUMBER PARTY OVERLOAD I've been experiencing. Everyone seems to be having sleepovers, and I just keep going to them. It's becoming an addiction. I've been living off of pizza and cake, and barely sleeping. 0_0

The best sleepover I went to this weekend involved cake fights and playing an awesome game called Apples to Apples. We also ate a lot of popcorn. It was an interesting day. :)

3) A "country" singer
I've never really been a huge Taylor Swift fan..

I liked a few of her songs, but I thought she was whiny and not that great of a songwriter. Just out of curiosity, I bought her new album, Speak Now. I was not expecting much.

And now I can't stop listening to it.

I'm obsessed with this album. Every single song has something that I love, and every single song is different. Her voice has really improved as well.

Speak Now:

1) Mine~ The only thing that bothers me about this song, is that the chorus has almost the exact same tune as "Fearless." But other than that, I love it.
2) Sparks Fly~ This one really surprised me. It's the same sort of tune that she usually writes, but the words are much more poetic. Definitely one of the songs I listen to over and over.
3) Back to December~ One of my least favorites. It's a nice idea, but they're so much hype about it in the media. I can't listen to it without thinking of Taylor Lautner...not that Taylor Lautner is a bad thing to think about..but it kinda ruins the song.
4) Speak Now~ I love this song so much. It's something that's never really been written about, and it just makes me think of that scene in 13 Going On 30.
5) Dear John~ I like this, but I don't think it's as great as everyone is making it out to be. It's very pretty, the lyrics are good, but there's much better songs on here. Plus, there's the whole John Mayer issue.
6) Mean~ One of my favorites. The tune is so freaking catchy, I'm humming it everywhere I go. I know that everyone has wanted to say these words to someone in their life.
7) The Story of Us~ A very generic tune, the lyrics aren't great...but for some reason, I really love this song. It's just so relate-able and catchy. It reminds a bit too  much of Demi Lovato though.
8)) Never Grow Up~ This is one of the most beautiful songs I've heard in a while. Simple tune, and gorgeous lyrics.
9) Enchanted~ I think this one has to be my absolute favorite. Or at least, my second favorite. The tune is hypnotizing. It makes me picture this beautiful fairy tale world. And the lyrics are lovely.
10) Better Than Revenge~ This was one of the first songs I heard off of the album, and I absolutely love it. The only problem is it kind of reminds me of 'The Way We Talk" by The Maine or "Misery Business" by Paramore. However, even though this is a bit of a filler song, there's a cleverness that we haven't seen from Taylor Swift in a while. Lines like "She's actress, but she's better known for the things she does on the mattress," will have you cracking up.
11) Innocent~ Okay, this is the only song on the album that I absolutely do not like at all. It's apparently to Kanye West, which is just stupid. Kanye was drunk, he screwed up, he's an asshole, we get it. And this song is just annoying to me.
12) Haunted~ Very interesting tune, nice lyrics. A great example of how Taylor Swift is maturing in songwriting.
13) Last Kiss~ This is the best song on the album, hands down. It's just beautiful. There's so much emotion in it, and the lyrics are amazing.
14) Long Live~ Not a great song, but it's a nice ending to the album.

Plus, I really respect Taylor Swift. The best thing about her, is that doesn't even have to try to be a good role model. She's not roped under a Disney contract. And yet, she's the classiest celebrity out there right now. She's absolutely gorgeous without being a whore. She's charming without being fake. She's confident without being conceited.

She also didn't get famous because she had money (Miley Cyrus) or because she shocked people (Ke$ha). She worked for what she has.

The only thing that bugs me about her is how her music is classified as country. It is not country at all. Her first album was country. But now it's definitely pop, and I can't really understand why it's still being classified as country....

Anyway, Speak Now is an unbelievable album. And it gives me some hope for this generation's music. Finally an artist who sings about more than getting drunk and banging hoes in the club.

4) Nanowrimo
Have you ever thought of writing a novel?

How 'bout writing a 50,000 word novel in a month?

...Well I am.

It's absolutely terrifying and exhilarating and stressful and just a stupid thing to do in general. By now, I only have around 10,000 words and November 30 is fast approaching. I'm freaking out. In fact, I should probably be working on that story right now...

You might wonder why I'm doing such a crazy thing. It's all apart of this little contest called NANOWRIMO, or National Novel Writing Month. It's probably too late for you to start now (unless you're a miracle worker and can crank out 50,000 words in three weeks), but you should check it out and sign up for next year.

Just so us crazies aren't alone. ;D

Well, I'm going to go work on that novel right now. I hope to be on again soon.

Later, alligators.

*sanityseasaw :]
